Who should attend? CAS Teams, Principals, Academy Directors, Key members of your leadership team such as the head of counseling, academy team leaders, and key assistant principals. Each school should have a team of 4-8 depending on your size and these people should be key to your implementation. The team configuration is completely your choice.
Date: January 11th, 9:00 – 3:00 (please bring your lunch)
Location: Waiakea HS Library
Topics: We will go through the 10 National Standards of Practice and have each school share out your successes and barriers. I will group the standards into four main areas: School Structure/Design, Teaching & Learning, Business and Community Engagement, and Data/Continuous Improvement. I want to use this time as a sharing opportunity…so please come prepared to share out the following:
- Your school structure – number of academies / pathways (a visual will be helpful to share with the other schools)
- Your mission/vision/SMART Goals of each academy (newer schools may not have this developed)
- Your master schedule – can you bring copies to share with all of the attending schools
- Your advisory board or business engagement structure – Who are your members?
- Any school improvement strategies around teaching & learning – are there any school-wide focus areas?
